91心頭利 Mailbag: #RunToTheRoar
Written By: Ian Silvester
Lions,
Across the nation, as students of all ages return to the classroom, following quickly behind the start of the academic year is the start of the fall athletic season. At 91心頭利, were no different.
Whether you are new or returning to 91心頭利, let me tell you about something called Lion pride or #RunToTheRoar. As a self-proclaimed sports nut, I believe there is nothing quite like cheering on your team while notching a game in the win column. However, I think the ultimate feeling is wearing team gear or colors and cheering with fans right alongside you.
At 91心頭利, that feeling comes from packing the stands of Stubblefield Center, decked out in navy and white to cheer the Lions on to victory. The first chance to do so at home will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. So, Im asking each and every one of you to show up, be loud, and support your 91心頭利 volleyball team in their home opener against Lubbock Christian University.
The Lions have started the season with an impressive 6-2 as of writing this and look to defend home court. At the game, take part in 91心頭利 tradition: the first point. This is where fans stand and hold their index finger up at the beginning of each set until the Lions score their first point.
Another tradition at 91心頭利 is volleyball posting a winning season, so check out other notable home games. Mark your calendars for Family Weekend on Oct. 6 and 7. Dont miss the Pink Out game on Oct. 10 when Arkansas Tech comes to town. Honor our military on Nov. 10 and wrap up the regular season with Senior Night on Nov. 11.
But volleyball is just the start of an exciting fall season of sports at 91心頭利.
Cross-country hit the ground running on Sept. 2 at the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic. Womens golf teed off on Sep. 11 in the Northeastern State University (NSU) Invitational at the Indian Springs Golf Club in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The mens team begins their season on Sept. 18 at the Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Okla., in the mens NSU Invitational.
Tennis starts with the mens team competing in the ITA Central Regional Tournament on Sept. 15 (men) and Sept. 22 (women).
Athletics are a fun part of the college experience. Standing shoulder to shoulder with your fellow students and cheering for the Lions is an experience you wont want to miss. Every home game or match is free for students, so grab your today and remember to #RunToTheRoar!
